Rebecca Staines is a dedicated and experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over ten years of experience as a mental health professional working in clinical settings.
Rebecca has an expertise in addressing a wide range of needs including anxiety, depression, changing family dynamics, and loss. Employing an integrative and compassionate approach, she supports adults, families, couples, and adolescents in building stronger communication skills and healthier relationships. Rebecca has specialized training in couples counseling and is certified in Levels One and Two of the Gottman Method, bringing a hopeful, positive, and relationship-strengthening lens to her work. She also provides pre-marriage counseling, helping couples establish a strong foundation of trust, commitment, and emotional connection.
Drawing on her training in Internal Family Systems and advanced grief interventions, Rebecca brings valuable insight to supporting women navigating divorce—a transition often marked by grief, anxiety, and significant life adjustments. She helps women process the emotional complexity of separation, rebuild a sense of stability and identity, and move toward hope for the future. Through her relationship-focused, integrative style, Rebecca guides clients in strengthening communication, setting boundaries, and understanding their internal emotional world. Rebecca’s counseling approach is grounded in her broad counseling background working with elementary, middle and high school students and her deep understanding of developmental needs and family dynamics. Rebecca is also the mother of three children and understands firsthand the demands that modern life places on parents and young families and the unique challenges children, adolescents and couples are facing in the Northern Virginia area. She is passionate about helping individuals navigate their challenges and achieve personal growth..
Rebecca earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Virginia and received her Master’s degree in Education and Human Development with a focus on School Counseling from The George Washington University in 2016.
