Megan Kipp is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who holds both a VA and DC license. She has experience working in multiple treatment settings including outpatient and home based therapy providing services to children, adolescents, and their families. She believes strongly in working collaboratively with schools and other treatment providers in order to provide a wrap around approach to services. Additionally, she has significant experience conducting individual and group therapy utilizing different treatment modalities including CBT, strength based/solutions focused, expressive therapies, positive psychology, psychodynamic, play therapy and mindfulness.
She has a special interest in providing individual and group therapy to children suffering from anxiety, selective mutism, phobias, poor frustration tolerance, ADHD, relational difficulties and ASD. She also has experience helping adolescents struggling with perfectionism, low self esteem, grief and loss, trauma, school refusal, anxiety, depression, family dynamics and life transitions.
Megan has coached soccer since 2002 and had been a travel and high school soccer coach since 2008, coaching children from ages 8 to 18. She enjoys helping all children realize their full potential and learn to embrace their strengths, whatever those may be.
Megan graduated from Elon University in 2006 with a Bachelors in Psychology and History. She obtained her MSW from Catholic University in 2008 with a clinical focus. Megan is currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy.
