Dorsa Sadeghi

M.Ed., Resident in Counseling

Dorsa Sadeghi M.Ed., is a Resident in Counseling, working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is passionate about helping individuals and families connect with their inner experiences, gently holding emotional wounds with grace and compassion to deepen their relationships with themselves and others.

Dorsa provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive care, integrating the richness of each client’s background into the healing process. She believes that while the therapeutic hour is deeply valuable, the support of family and community plays a vital role in long-term growth and healing.

Her clinical approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with an emphasis on transforming clients’ relationships with their symptoms rather than focusing solely on symptom elimination—trusting that meaningful change follows naturally. Dorsa tailors therapy to each client’s needs, goals, and strengths, and values the importance of a collaborative, strength-based approach.

Dorsa has experience and enjoys working with families around issues of transitions, building healthy communication skills, and managing anxiety, depression, and acculturation challenges. Dorsa works with children, teenagers, families and parents to support intergenerational understanding and healing. As a bilingual clinician fluent in English and Farsi, Dorsa is passionate about bridging generational and cultural gaps that can impact connection and understanding within families. She is particularly interested in creative expression within therapy and incorporates bibliotherapy to enrich sessions and foster deeper insight. Dorsa uses expressive interventions to meet children and families where they are and in their own language, both their home language as well as using the language of play to support her clinical work with children. Dorsa is also enrolled in play therapy continuing education trainings and is currently working towards her Registered Play Therapy credential (RPT).

Dorsa received both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Mason University.
