Darah Curran

LCSW

Darah Curran is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with almost 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. She worked in home-based counseling and adolescent group homes prior to transitioning to pediatric oncology social work and ultimately private practice. Darah has provided therapeutic support to pediatric and adult clients in outpatient and inpatient medical settings throughout her career and is currently the clinical director at a non-profit supporting individuals impacted by cancer. She regularly presents in the community and on a national level and serves on national advisory boards. She has been a therapist at Crossroads Family Counseling since 2012.

Darah’s areas of focus include adjustment, emotional regulation, anxiety, chronic illness, grief and trauma work. She is trained in child-centered play, CBT, and expressive arts therapies. Darah believes in the strength of the family and encourages each member’s engagement in affecting positive change for the child or family system. She is willing to collaborate with school systems, other mental health professionals or medical teams to create the most supportive environment for children and families.

Darah completed her Bachelor of Social Work degree (B.S.W.) from George Mason University in 1997 and her Master in Social Work (M.S.W.) from The Catholic University of America in 2009 with a Clinical Health Care specialization.
