About Crossroads Family Counseling Center

Crossroads Family Counseling Center Therapy Room

Crossroads Family Counseling Center is an award-winning program providing mental health counseling for children, adolescents, adults and families in Fairfax and Northern Virginia, including Burke, Centreville, Chantilly, Great Falls, McLean, Reston, Springfield and Vienna, VA. Crossroads Family Counseling Center has received the Best in Fairfax Counseling Award for 8 consecutive years and was highlighted in the Healthcare Business Review as a Top Care Services Provider in 2023.

Crossroads Family Counseling Center recognizes the unique needs of children and families and has evolved into a practice that provides developmentally appropriate mental health counseling and psychiatric services to the entire family: children, adolescents, families, parents and adults.

We welcome all individuals and families from diverse communities, including those from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, refugees and immigrants, those identifying as LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent individuals. Crossroads Family Counseling Center offers bilingual counseling services in Spanish.

We believe in a holistic therapeutic approach and prioritize care coordination within our team and with other professionals in the community to ensure our families’ needs are understood across the many facets of their life. By coordinating and seeking to understand, we believe our treatment services are better able to provide lasting change and healing.

While Crossroads Family Counseling Center is most well known for specializing in providing play therapy to children, the Crossroads Family Counseling Center team of interdisciplinary clinicians have a variety of specialized training credentials and use a number of evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-focused treatment, and attachment-based family therapies. Our team of clinicians includes LCSW-, LPC-, LMFT-, PsyD- and PMHNP-certified professionals who have expertise in subspecialty areas. Our counseling intake team will coordinate with families to identify the therapist with the specific training and experience that will best meet each family’s unique needs.

To best integrate coordinated care, Crossroads Family Counseling Center also provides psychiatric medication evaluations and services, delivered in coordination with an onsite Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). With advanced nursing degrees and board certification in psychiatry, PMHNPs bridge the gap between therapeutic counseling and medical management.

By ensuring therapists can readily collaborate with their child clients and families’ medication providers, Crossroads Family Counseling seeks to create a welcoming therapeutic environment where families can receive individualized and comprehensive care counseling in Fairfax in one safe space.
