Jessica Comfort is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of VA who has worked in a variety of settings including home-based, the school system, and the hospital. Besides working at Crossroads Family Counseling Center, she is employed as a hospice social worker supporting clients and their families facing end of life, grief and loss.
Jessica specializes in working with children, adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, ADD/ADHD and sensory processing disorders.
Jessica is also a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) and has experience working with children and their families in the hospital setting where she provides developmentally appropriate interventions including therapeutic play, preparation for procedures, and education to reduce fear, anxiety, and pain.
Jessica incorporates play and expressive therapies into her therapeutic interventions and uses cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and family systems perspective.
Jessica completed her Bachelors degree in Child Life Psychology from Syracuse University in 2008 and graduated with her Master in Social Work (M.S.W.) from George Mason University in 2015.
