Angela Benitez (she/her) M.A., is a Resident in Counseling working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). She loves working with children and their families to support them through various life challenges. Angela believes that the client counselor relationship is of the utmost importance and aims to create a safe environment for both children and their families to heal.
Angela works from a trauma informed lens and utilizes play-based therapies such as child-centered play therapy to assist children in expressing themselves and reaching their full potential. Additionally, she collaborates with families to ensure they are included through every step of the counseling process to best support the client. She specifically works with complex trauma, anxiety, and adjustment concerns. She also has experience working in community-based settings providing individual and group therapy, crisis interventions, and psychoeducation.
Angela earned her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Washington University and her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University.
