Judy Bender has over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia. She has worked with children and adolescents in a variety of settings, including Johns Hopkins University Hospital’s Child Psychiatry Outpatient Clinics and other group practice settings.
Judy works with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety and depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and/or extreme picky eaters. Judy uses cognitive behavior therapy, play therapy and a strengths-based approach to help nurture self-confidence, resilience and flexibility. She provides support and practical strategies for children and their parents to deal with these challenges. When working with OCD, Judy uses exposure and response prevention (ERP), which is the gold standard for the treatment of OCD. Judy has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from The University of Maryland College Park.
